The Fast of the Ascension, known as Tsome Filseta, is one of the seven canonized fasts observed by the Orthodox Tewahedo Church. This sacred period (Aug 7-Aug 22, 2024) is dedicated to honoring the Holy Virgin Mary and her ascension, reflecting the deep reverence the Church holds for her.

Our church holds special prayers and sermons every Sunday during The Fast of the Holy Virgin Mary (Tsome Filseta) - ጾመ ፍልሰታ. These services are particularly solemn and begin very early at 1 AM, reflecting the deep spiritual significance of this fast.
